What is a Teaching Artist?

Teaching artists are designated experts who have dual careers as educators. They specialize in different artistic fields—music, dance, theatre, visual and creative arts, and work in many settings such as schools, museums, hospitals, and prisons.

What does a Teaching artist do?

Teaching Artists’ specialization and focus derives from various genres of art, including but not limited to theatre, music, dance, film, creative writing, design, photography, visual and creative arts. They integrate their artistic skill set, utilizing comprehensive techniques, to address the various specialized needs of many individuals, fostering an environment of positivity and fulfilment.

What is social and creative art?

A creative process that facilitates a positive transformation in the participating individuals, groups and on society at large. Creative arts are activities that actively engage an individual’s imagination through music, visual arts, movement and dance, and drama and storytelling. Creative arts engage individuals across all domains—cognitive, language, social, emotional, and physical.

What can you expect from a session with Ms. B?

With Ms. B, you will utilize movement in various forms led by a professional teaching artist, fostering connections and building relationships with other individuals with disabilities around the world, both verbally and non-verbally.
